  • With the world in its second year amid the coronavirus pandemic, things were anything but calm in Hollywood.

* After several delays, the release of the James Bond film No time to die gave cinemas affected by the pandemic a much needed boost.

Studios have revamped the schedules and in some cases the films have been released simultaneously in theaters and on streaming platforms.

Broadway in New York and London’s West End have reopened, but with Covid-19 security measures in place. Live music also returned.

* Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish won top prizes at Grammy Awards while Beyoncé became the most awarded female artist in Grammy history, with a total of 28 victories.

the Oscars saw Nomadic country won the Best Picture and Best Director award for Chloe Zhao, of Chinese descent, making her the first Asian woman and only the second woman to win the award.

In other awards season news, US television network NBC fall its broadcast of the 2022 Golden Globes after a backlash on the ethics of the HFPA group, which presents the annual film and television awards, and its lack of diversity. The group said they have made sweeping changes and will hold its ceremony in January.

* Now living in California, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan sent shockwaves when, in a interview Along with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan accused the British royal family of raising concerns about the black skin of the couple’s first child.

* Director of photography Halyna Hutchins was kill when a gun held by actor Alec Baldwin fired a live bullet on the set of Western Rust. Baldwin noted the revolver exploded while cocking the rifle. The incident is under investigation.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, however, revived their romance after almost 20 years!
