Sara Davies, 37, made money after building an artisan empire from scratch. The savvy businesswoman started while still in college in 2005 – and has now added fame to her resume through appearances on the BBC’s Dragons’ Den, and soon, in Strictly Come Dancing.
By the time she graduated, Sara’s business was generating over £ 500,000.
Fast forward a few years to 2019 and Crafter’s Companion exports to over 40 countries and employs 200 people worldwide.
In 2019, it was reported that Crafter’s Companion grossed almost £ 25million the previous year.
In 2015, Sara began her television career hosting Local Television Limited’s craft show, Be Creative.
In April 2019, the businesswoman joined the BBC’s Dragon’s Den as one of the Dragons, becoming the show’s youngest investor.
Speaking to the BBC at the time, Sara said: “I’ve been a fan of the show since its inception.
“I was even invited to host the show 13 years ago, so I feel like I’ve come full circle.”
Sara was named MBE on the 2016 New Years Honors List for her service to the UK economy.
Additionally, in 2010, the businesswoman received the Ernst & Young Award for Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year.
She appears in Dragons’ Den with Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones, Touker Suleyman and Tej Lalvani.
Sara keeps her personal life relatively private, but sometimes shares images of her two sons on her Instagram page, such as when they are doing crafts together as a family.
She lives with her children and her husband Simon – whom she married in September 2007 – in Teeside.
