For the uninitiated, star anise or chakra phool is a spice commonly used in Indian and Asian cuisines. It is commonly used in biryani, mutton or chicken curries and a list of other royal and rich dishes due to its exotic aroma and rich taste. Luke explains that this spice works wonders for the flu, colds, viral fever, stuffy nose, mucus buildup and indigestion. He explains that the best time to drink the star anise drink is 30 minutes after a meal, once or twice a day.

Wondering how to consume this beneficial ingredient? According to Luke, you can take a whole star and boil it in water for 5 minutes. He reveals that he likes to add ginger to his drink but it’s totally optional. He also recommends adding a pinch of cloves and cinnamon for their anti-inflammatory and soothing properties.
