Vaccination against COVID-19 is underway across the country. In view of the pandemic, people are advised to wear masks and carry disinfectants to prevent the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus. But a Malaysian man stepped forward and introduced himself as a dinosaur for his appointment at a vaccination center. The sight of the man in the special T-Rex dinosaur costume waiting for his turn at the center and following all COVID protocols amused other residents and frontline officers.

A resident of the Malaysian state of Sarawak, Kenny Sia sharing his photo in the T-Rex costume informed that he had been vaccinated. He wrote: “I received my first dose of Sinovac today.” Within minutes of posting, the images went viral across all social media platforms.

In a conversation with Malay Mail, Sia revealed that he decided to wear the costume after photos of an elderly man carrying a plastic bag on his head during the vaccination went viral. He revealed that the intention was also to brighten the mood of health workers at the vaccination center as they inoculated hundreds of people daily.

Sia, who is the founder and director of Level Up Fitness, was taken aback by the frontline workers at Borneo Convention Center Kuching (BCCK) who played the game and acted like he was an ordinary person.

Amused and impressed by the original idea, the vaccination center shared images of Sia dressed as dinosaurs. The center wrote that “even the T-rex is passed for the necessary vaccination.” They also used the post to create a step-by-step guide to educate others about the vaccination procedure.

After Sia was identified, the BCCK center took to Twitter to thank him for “making everyone smile” on the day of her vaccination. In another tweet, the center wrote that for maximum comfort, people who will come for the vaccine in the future are advised to come as humans.

This is not the first time that a person has worn such a costume to get vaccinated. There have been people who have made the buzz on social media choosing to dress like a unicorn or in a giraffe costume.
