Back in February Lorraine Kelly revealed that she was taking steps to get fit and healthy like herself with the help of the WW (formerly known as Weight Watchers) app. The presenter is now celebrating after reaching an incredible milestone, months into her journey. I have been trying to get my health back since January this year and downloaded the WW app with the aim of getting rid of the weight I put on during lockdown but much more importantly to get fit and have much more energy.

I absolutely did not want to continue another faddy diet.

I’ve done them before and they just don’t work and make you miserable.

What we all need is a life plan that means you can still enjoy the food you love, but kick all those bad habits.

My own downside was having a cup of tea and a “chocolate plate” right before bed every night while watching TV. It started with a few cookies and candies and ended with almost all confectionery. Combine that with all-day snacking, comfort food, too much alcohol, and not enough exercise, and it’s no wonder I went up more than two dress sizes.

At the start of this year, a size 14 was getting way too tight, but more importantly, I felt sluggish and tired all the time.

I knew I had to do something to get back to the size and shape I was meant to be and when I was happiest and healthiest.

A friend of mine had tried the WW app and she told me to try it.

It’s not just about eating a much healthier diet (while still being allowed to enjoy the things you love), it’s also about exercise, how much water you drink, and quality of your sleep.

Everything you need is on the app. It’s like having a friend in the palm of your hand.

There are exercise classes online for all fitness levels, plenty of brilliant recipes, and practical, sensible help for relaxation and anxiety management.

There is also a lot of support from others on the WW program, and I find that very helpful and love being part of a gang where everyone shares their own experiences.

I feel so much better and my family and friends notice that I have regained my glow, which I needed.
