Kate had experience with Dorothy Perkins. “After I left school I didn’t know what I wanted to do, so I headed into the retail industry,” she said.
“When I was 17, I was an assistant store manager. I finished my NVQ in retail and my advanced NVQ in retail management. I always loved fashion and had a little low for retail. “
Kate, who moved to the city two years ago, founded Girl in the Mirror, while living in Australia.
“After I got home and found Main Street so drab, I decided to restart the brand during the lockdown.
“Girl In The Mirror is based in Scarborough and is worn and loved by many celebrities.

Girl In The Mirror is mostly run online and Kate is aiming to secure a store in downtown Scarborough this year.
“Girl In The Mirror also supports the local economy, working with a local seamstress to create their best-selling face masks. Profits from these masks are donated to the Mind Association,” Kate said.
In Australia, Kate launched her online store, which later evolved into bricks and mortar, in Scarborough, Perth, Western Australia.
“At Girl In The Mirror, we believe that quality and style should never be compromised by cost.
“We have a wide range of clothing items, from basics that will enhance your everyday wardrobe, to sensational red carpet dresses that celebrities love,” she said.

Last year, hte store branched out into the beauty industry with the launch of its At Home Brow laminating kits.
“These were designed with two factors in mind; providing in-home beauty services when salons closed during the pandemic; and offering eyebrow lamination at a much more affordable price than in salons. The kits are vegan, eco-friendly, and cruelty-free. ,” she said.
