Plot[]
This anime adaptation loosely follows the plot of the first two games. It features many of the same characters, although their storylines differ slightly from the games. (As well their personalities has some changes, as a example of Maria being hostile and aggressive with Sakura in the very start, or Iris almost every episode being depressed or Sumire's arrogance being displayed in a more aggressive and even threatening way)
In the Taisho Year 12, a girl named Sakura Shinguji travels to the Imperial Capital of Tokyo with aspirations of defending the city from the Kouma as her late father did. She was assigned to the Imperial Combat Revue, a secret military unit in the cover of the city's theatrical establishment, the Imperial Theatrical Troupe. However, things are not as Sakura imagined where not only she must pilot a mech, she must also perform on stage as an actress to train her great spiritual energy. Though her repeating failures continue to make a fool of herself and ruining productions gets her on everyone's bad side, Sakura must somehow learn to cooperate with them in both the fine arts and martial arts to prevent the demons from destroying the city.
