Whether you know it as fashion’s Oscars or the biggest party of the year, the Met Gala is, as my colleague Laird Borrelli-Persson once wrote, the “hottest ticket in town.” This year, the star-studded event is back on the first Monday in May, and celebrities are starting to turn to New York for the mesmerizing fashion soiree.
If you’re anything like us, you’re probably chomping at the bit, eagerly awaiting the opening of the ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion’ exhibit on May 7 so you can head to the museum to feast your eyes on the pieces. highlights from designers old and new, such as Oscar de la Renta and Eli Russell Linnetz. Or, maybe you’ll be in town the weekend before the party, hoping to catch a glimpse of the star-studded red carpet — where there’s always inevitably some kind of surprise — before the fundraising event. doesn’t start that night.
